THE OBJECTIVE
Desert Palms is an early independent fiction production created with the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera. Acute wanted to help the filmmakers turn that ambition into a finished work and a credible path to publishers.
Acute helped connect the production with collaborators and supported the sourcing and supply of the camera equipment required for the shoot.
The team advised on the Blackmagic capture pipeline, in-headset review and delivery encoding for Apple Immersive Video.
The filmmakers evaluated footage in Apple Vision Pro so creative and technical decisions were made in the audience format.
Acute represents Desert Palms to publishers and supports its path from the Venice presentation to wider headset distribution.
PRODUCTION TIMELINE
Director Tristan Seniuk holds a week-long creative retreat with filmmaking friends. The idea for Desert Palms is born.
Desert Palms is awarded the College Cinema Immersive production grant from the Biennale di Venezia.
Desert Palms completes filming in Los Angeles.
Several marketing videos and assets for Desert Palms will be released.
